De Prada-show tijdens de mannenmodeweek in Milaan was één groot Nederlands feestje.

Nederlandse modellen zijn populairder dan ooit. Dat bleek gisteren ook maar weer in Milaan. Tijdens de mannenmodeweek aldaar showde Prada de nieuwste herencollectie van het modehuis, aangevuld met enkele dameslooks uit de Pre-Fall collectie. En de meerderheid van die dames komt van Hollandse bodem; Roos Abels (die vorig fashion week-seizoen met 14 lentes jong ook al door Miuccia Prada de catwalk op werd gestuurd), Maartje Verhoef en Julie Hoomans (beide inmiddels catwalkpro’s dankzij een bizar hoog aantal boekingen vorig seizoen) én nieuwkomer Noa Vermeer.

Noa, die ook wel de Nederlandse Lindsey Wixson wordt genoemd, werd nog maar zo'n anderhalf jaar geleden door modellenscout Tjarda Jansen op haar schouder getikt bij een One Direction-concert en liep vervolgens tijdens Amsterdam Fashion Week haar eerste catwalkshow. Maar het lijkt er dus op dat we haar nu al weer kwijt zijn aan de internationale modeweken...

Ook voor mannelijk schoon worden de Nederlandse agencies trouwens veelvuldig ingeschakeld. Niels Trispel en Erik van Gils openden en sloten de Prada-show, waar een sterrencast de eerste rij bezette.
